Summary:
The Electrical & Controls Engineer position is responsible for assuring proper equipment specifications, design, installation, and repair for process electrical/control equipment according to Traditional Medicinals standards and reliability best practices. The Electrical & Controls Engineer will work closely with the other Engineering and Production team members to complete capital projects related to continuous improvement, expansion, and safety. Additionally, this role will provide technical and reliability expertise for TM by managing asset reliability risks that could adversely affect the plant or business operations. Reporting to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager, this role drives continuous improvement for long-term productivity gains, cost reduction, and waste elimination. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Identifies, develops, design, and integrates improvement projects, optimizations, process changes, and new technologies to achieve increased productivity, improved quality, safer operations, and increased capacity Provides electrical and controls support for capital projects, manages projects as assigned, and provides field oversight of OEM's and other Contractors performing work at TM. Provides process and automation support to the Production Plant to ensure all aspects of production are operating correctly Develops engineering solutions for capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues that adversely affect plant operations Collaborates with maintenance personnel on the calibration, maintenance, and upgrade/replacement activities for equipment and instrumentation Develops electrical engineering standards and guidelines for the Production Facility and provides leadership for an Electrical Safe Work Program in Compliance with NFPA 70E. Provides guidance and training as appropriate to promote proper operation and maintenance of equipment, instruments, and control systems Works with safety as a core value, looks for opportunities to build safety consciousness and promote safe work practices, models the proactive behavior of providing input on safety issues. Uses expertise to makes decisions and recommendations that have an important impact on department and organizational goals and activities Minimum Requirements:
Education Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or any combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved. Experience 5 years manufacturing experience 3 years electrical and/or automation engineering background Experience with design, build, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting equipment and processes preferred Project management experience preferred Skills Ability to recognize and clearly report information Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to effectively collaborate with and guide others Working knowledge of PLC programming concepts, computer network technology, servers, and databases Ability to be self-motivated and motivate others to persist in times of challenge or uncertainty Working knowledge of industrial power and electrical system infrastructure Good knowledge and experience in maintenance engineering, cost control, supply and inventory management work processes Good knowledge of maintenance operations and CMMS (i.e. asset master data key-user and becoming/training for asset master data expert). Skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint as well as various CAD software High self-motivated and ability to perform with minimum supervision Excellent interpersonal skills, and oral and written communication skills Must be punctual, organized, motivated and detail oriented.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Electrical EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
