Our wonderful baking/kitchen team enjoys what we do and maintaining a great work environment has always been our number one priority.
We have a devoted following of customers at our historic venue who come for High Tea and our pastry case/retail shop and our wholesale products are sold at grocery stores, coffee bars and restaurants throughout the Bay area.
Our kitchen creates and decorates distinctive and scrumptious cookies, cakes, cupcakes, pies, pastries, scones, specialty breads, savories and chocolates with an emphasis on quality, consistency and presentation.
Our chocolate is certified free trade and organic.
In addition to being vegan, we offer many gluten free items.
We are seeking someone experienced with chocolate to assist with our specialty whimsical creations.
There is the opportunity for creative input.
Work schedule and hours are flexible on Mondays through Fridays.
Essentials for this position :
Experience tempering chocolate, dipping chocolate and using candy molds.
Knowledge regarding storage of chocolate products.
Keen attention to quality, consistency and detail is required.
Ability to thrive and meet production schedules in a high production environment on wholesale baking days but also shifting to incorporate your creativity, ideas and attention to detail for our whimsical pastry case items.
Commercial production experience with chocolate is a plus.
Ability to follow recipes and ensure consistency.
Cleanliness, organization is a must- we clean as we go.
Able to lift 15 pound bags of ingredients.
Knowledge of working with commercial specialty appliances.
Comfort with communicating input at staff meetings.
Enjoy working with a supportive and harmonious team where a sense of humor is valued.
Compensation is based on experience and bonuses are given frequently during busy months.
