Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team.
As a Dental Assistant, you will provide chairside assistance to the dentist during dental procedures and ensure the comfort and well-being of patients.
Your role will also involve performing administrative tasks and maintaining a clean and organized dental office environment.
You would be the only dental assistant in a small general practice in Sebastopol.
We have a Sterilization Assistant to help with room setup, breakdown and sterilization.

Hours:
Tuesdays from 7:
30 am to 5:
00pm Wednesday and Thursday hours are 7:
30 am - 4:
00 pm
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures by handing them instruments, suctioning, and providing patient care - Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and arranging dental instruments and equipment - Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the dentist - Perform dental charting and maintain accurate patient records - Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions - Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office calendar - Assist with front desk duties, including answering phone calls, greeting patients, and managing patient paperwork -Comfortable with computers and working in a paperless office.
Our office is equipped with digital X-rays, digital charting and intraoral cameras.
We use Dentrix and Dexis software.
- Maintain infection control protocols in accordance with OSHA and HIPAA guidelines - Ensure compliance with all dental regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a dental assisting program preferred - X-Ray certification required; CPR certification preferred - Strong knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and materials - Proficient in medical documentation and record keeping - Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively educate patients on oral health practices - Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry Join our team of dedicated professionals in providing exceptional dental care to our patients.
