About Your team:
The front end development team on the conferences side of O'Reilly is growing to meet the demand of conference websites. This team is responsible for the production of conference websites that inform attendees on specific O'Reilly Conferences like Fluent, OScon, and Strata.
About the Job:
We are looking for a Web Producer to work in a collaborative team environment, building, maintaining, and testing the web applications that power O'Reilly conferences. The producer must be willing and able to analyze and adapt legacy systems; select and integrate packaged solutions; design, develop and deploy new features; and to explain and document systems operations. This position is located at our Sebastopol, CA headquarters office.
Job Details:
Analyze and resolve day-to-day issues and bug reports.
Maintain and improve legacy code for performance and stability.
Work with web producers and business owners to define requirements and to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.
Maintain and deliver on the O'Reilly brand promise throughout our various web properties.
This person will be on the team responsible for creating conference sites that provide information on specific O'Reilly conferences such as Fluent and Strata
About You:
Strong experience with HTML, CSS, & JavaScript and/or jQuery.
Must be able to travel domestically and internationally
Strong experience designing and building responsive websites
Some experience using template engines.
Some experience integrating with various 3rd party APIs.
Strong understanding of the different web browsers, desktop & mobile, and development/ debugging tools
Must be highly capable in using browser dev tools
Strong understanding of web performance optimization.
Some understanding of databases, such as MySQL or noSQL style like Mongo db.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
Four-year college degree in Computer Science or related field, or combination of relevant education and work experience.
3+ years of experience with HTML, CSS, & JavaScript and/or jQuery
2+ years of experience with designing and developing both responsive and data-driven websites
2+ years of experience working in an Agile environment



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
