Marketing Specialist, Events

The Marketing Specialist performs a variety of functions related to supporting events and trade shows: planning and implementing O'Reilly's presence (booth) at our own conferences, as well as for external events where O'Reilly has a marketing presence, as needed.
Plan and implement the O'Reilly booth presence at our own conferences, including graphics, supplies, marketing materials, and events happening in the booth
Manage the attendee engagement activities in the booth, including events such as Meet the Experts and Author Signings
Engage attendees to promote new products such as books and videos, through programs such as the partner center or affiliate program, as appropriate.
Manage the staffing plan for the booth implementation and activities.
Report on effectiveness of booth presence and activities and make recommendations for improvements
Support the planning of onsite attendee marketing needs at O'Reilly conferences, including attendee communications and experience, schedule handouts, surveys, daily emails, and slides.
Support in researching new marketing opportunities, channels, and campaigns.
Working with the Marketing Director and Marketing Managers, support the planning and execution of marketing plans for O'Reilly events and products via online, print, and email channels.
Support the analysis and tracking results of marketing efforts (i.e. website statistics, list growth, customer/registration information, survey data, etc.) to improve effectiveness.
Develop marketing materials and disseminate as needed. Ensure that all content is accurate and drives conversions.
Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 2 years experience
Strong organizational skills and ability follow-through with projects
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to take direction and work in a team environment, provide and accept feedback in a professional manner, and support team workers to achieve common goals
Strong computer skills, experience with business software (Word, Excel, Salesforce)
Ability prioritize workload and manage multiple projects and overlapping deadlines
Ability to travel up to 25% per year and attend occasional local meetings and events, including during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
